"What is the first step for the transformation of either people or objects?"
The answer is quite simple and perfectly rhymes with the term " transformation". It is Inspiration. In a world as creative as ours, we, the people gain or rather acquire inspiration, not only from our fellow beings but also from mere objects, ideas, cultures and much more. Every person has at least for once, definitely experienced the magic of being inspired or of being the inspiration. Professions are driven by ideas and ideas are in turn taken from inspirations. One such profession, wherein inspiration plays a pivotal role is in, the life of Artists. Be it Musicians, Actors, Painters, Graphic designers or even Fashion designers. Fashion designers transform mere pieces of clothes into awe striking beautiful garments with patterns and designs taken from different inspirations.

This season, Kalanjali presents " The Imari Collection", a collection entirely inspired by Imari. Now what is Imari? and how has it been used as an inspiration to curate this collection?

Imari is a 17th century richly decorated Japanese art done on porcelain to make cutlery and artistic objects. The Designers at Kalanjali have taken this oriental form of craft as an inspiration to create as well as transform simple pieces of cloth into wonderful pieces of art. Each piece of garment reflects the patterns and designs of this Japanese art form and introduces their culture to us. The blend of the Japanese art inspired designs and patterns on to Indian garments, portray the true meaning of beauty that lies in diversity. This collection embodies the uniqueness of the oriental form of art and the craft of Kalamkari, to serve as the perfect attire for this festive season.
