This Venkatagiri Silk Magenta Saree is featured with a ‘Mayil’ Zari Butta design all over the body. The saree has a silver Zari woven kaddi border with light orange colour edging. The mustard yellow colour pallu is enhanced with floral motifs in silver Zari weaves. Venkatagiri Silk sarees known for their fine weaving were produced at an artisan cluster close to Nellore called Venkatagiri. This place was then known as ‘Kali Mili’ and its famous product was patronized by the Velugoti Dynasty of Nellore.
